Facebook posts shared hundreds of times purport to show four photos of National Football League (NFL) stadiums that resemble "all-seeing eyes" used in “satanic” rituals. This claim is false. Three of the images were digitally created for an advertising campaign. The other shows a stadium in Malaysia, which has no NFL team.

The images were shared by an Australia-based user with more than 2,000 followers here.

The post, which purports to show images of four NFL stadiums, claims they are being used as “ritual energy extraction sites”.

“The NFL stadiums below are all seeing eyes. Imagine these full of cheering people… sending colossal amounts of competitive, worshipping/idolizing energy and vibrations through the eyes,” reads text superimposed above the photo collage.

The claims were shared hundreds of times by Facebook users around the world, including here, here, here and here.

The claims, however, are false.

The images of three stadiums on the left-hand side of the collage have in fact been digitally altered.

They were deliberately manipulated to resemble eyes for an advertising campaign by design agency Electric Art, as shown below:

The company, which specialises in motion design and graphics, lists the images as part of an advertising campaign for Sony Bravia TV that was “pieced together using many stock shots”.

“Our retouching guys had to find a balance between building a realistic landscape & creating an eye that was still obvious enough to be noticed. We created one of the stadiums in CGI,” their website says.

A reverse image search of the stadium on the right-hand side of the misleading image shows it is in fact a stock photo of Shah Alam Stadium in Malaysia, as seen below:

There are no NFL teams in the South East Asian country.

Of the four stadiums featured in the misleading post, only one is set up with the appropriate markings for NFL. Two others show markings for soccer fields, while the final stadium appears to house a cricket pitch.
