The post is in a Facebook group called ‘I Support Modi’, in reference to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It has a caption in Hindi that reads: “Wow Mr. Modi, you have delighted our hearts by installing Israeli-inspired smart fences on our borders. Now we realise that our money is being used in the right places, with hikes in diesel and petrol prices.”
The post has been shared more than 1,300 times.
The image was an AFP photo of border fencing on the Israel-Egypt border near the Israeli town of Eilat.
The photograph was taken by AFP photographer Ahmad Gharabli on 15 February 2012.
The caption for the AFP image states: “Egyptian border guards on the right are seen observing from a watch tower as Israeli counterparts supervise the construction of the border fence along Israel’s border with Egypt.”
