“Molson is gifting free 24 pack of Canadian Beer to Everyone to Celebrate 200th Year of Great Taste!” This enthusiastic post which links to the impostor url molsonbeer.com-cases.com is resurfacing on the Canadian web. The scam is at least three years old. The real url of the beer company is molsoncoors.com.
“It really is a fake ad, that much is clear,” François Lefebvre, a Molson Coors spokesperson, told AFP. “We were aware of it and took steps to warn our clients, but I’m surprised to see it come back today,” he added.
Molson Canadian also warned social media users about the scam as far back as 2016 on Twitter and on Facebook.
SCAM WARNING: A fake promo is running online offering free Molson Canadian. It is not legitimate or endorsed by us...https://t.co/VBbykdPiNl

Molson Canadian, which merged with US-based Coors in 2005, was founded in 1786 in Montreal, making it 233 years old, not 200 as the promotion claims.
