An image purporting to show Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison with a wet pair of pants has been shared hundreds of times on social media. The claim is misleading:  the image has been manipulated from a press photograph of Morrison in May 2021.

The image was published in a Facebook post on May 20, 2021, and has since been shared more than 200 times.

The post purports to show a photo of Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison with a wet patch on his pants, and mocks him for the apparent blunder.

However, the image has been manipulated.

A Google reverse image search led to this article by The Australian newspaper, which features an unedited version of the image.

A further search on Morrison’s Facebook page led to this post on May 16, 2021, which also features the unedited photograph, which was taken during a visit to an engineering firm in Queensland.
