A video has been shared in multiple Facebook posts in May 2020 alongside claims that it shows a group of crows at a supermarket parking lot in Saudi Arabia. However, the claim is false; the video in fact shows black birds swarming a supermarket in the US of Texas in December 2016.

The one-minute and 56-second video has been viewed hundreds of times after it was published here on Facebook on May 28, 2020.

The post’s caption reads: “Crows not allowing customers to come out of super market in Saudi.”

The footage was also shared alongside similar claims on Facebook here and here; and on Instagram here.

The claim is false; the video actually shows black birds swarming a parking lot in Carrollton, a city in the US state of Texas.

A longer version of the footage was published by video-licensing company ViralHog on YouTube here on April 17, 2020.

The video's caption reads in part: “Occurred on December 6, 2016 / Carrollton, Texas, USA".

The filming location can be seen here on Google Street View.

Similar footage from the scene also circulated on social media alongside false claims in Indonesia. AFP debunked the claims here.
