No, Philippine film star Kris Aquino has not died

Multiple websites claim that Philippine film star Kris Aquino has died. She has appeared in public since those reports were published. Her team confirmed she is still alive.

Multiple websites such as this one claim that Aquino, an actress and sister of former Philippine president Benigno Aquino III, is dead.

When shared on Facebook the posts include this picture:

The post, when translated into English, says: Farewell Queen of All Media, Ms. Kris Aquino Aquino. You can now join your parents. 1971-2018.

“Queen of all media” is a nickname given to Aquino because she has scored lucrative projects across all platforms - from TV to movies to the digital media.

A reverse image search found that the photograph in the top right hand corner of the post was shared on a US military account in 2009.

Ernan Muñoz, a representative from Aquino’s production company, told AFP on October 22: “She’s still alive”.

Aquino also appeared in public on October 17, two days after the death reports were published, to renew an endorsement deal.
