The post refers to the Reserve Bank of India, which is charged with maintaining monetary stability in India, by its widely used acronym: RBI.

An article published here on October 5, 2019, also makes the same claim.
The claim is false; the RBI publicly refuted the claim, calling it “fake news.”
"This is fake news and RBI has not issued any circular or notification in this regard,” Yogesh Dayal, an RBI spokesperson, told AFP by phone on December 4, 2019.
The RBI has not published any press release on its website here about prohibiting the dispensing of 2,000 banknotes from ATMs.
