Twitter users claim a clip shows British singer Adele leaving the Grammys as Harry Styles accepts the prize for Album of the Year, for which she and Beyonce were also nominated. This is false; official footage of the ceremony shows Adele remained in the arena for Styles's speech.

"Adele leaving during Harry Styles little speech and Lizzo understanding why has me weak. #GRAMMYs," says February 6, 2023 tweet.

The post includes a short clip that shows Adele moving in the audience.

"Adele walking out because Beyonce didn't win album of the year is correct and I support it! shes just like us," another user sharing the clip tweeted.

Similar claims sharing the footage gathered millions of views online following Styles's unexpected win at the prestigious music awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

"Adele 'walks out' of Grammy Awards during Harry Styles' speech after losing out to star for Album of the Year," says a February 6 headline from the US edition of The Sun, a tabloid newspaper.

But the claims are false -- while some Grammys attendees voiced their discontent over Beyonce losing Album of the Year, Adele did not walk out of the ceremony.

Unedited footage shows Adele, who won Best Pop Solo Performance, moving to the other side of Lizzo, who took home the prize for Record of the Year, during Styles's speech. Both performers cheered for the British singer as he accepted the award.

"On nights like tonight, it's obviously so important for us to remember that there is no such thing as bests in music," Styles said in his speech.

Pop queen Beyonce reigned supreme on February 5, breaking the all-time record for Grammy wins with her 32nd prize. But she remains on the outside looking in when it comes to the Recording Academy's top prizes, as she has never won Album or Record of the Year.

Styles's win drew immediate comparisons to 2017, when Adele swept the top prizes at the gala, shutting out Beyonce's "Lemonade." But unlike Styles, Adele used her Album of the Year acceptance speech to heap praise on Beyonce.

"My artist of my life is Beyonce, and this album for me -- the 'Lemonade' album -- was so monumental," she said at the time.
