A video has been viewed tens of thousands of times in multiple Facebook posts that claim it shows a large village council meeting of farmers in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh in September 2021. The claim is false: the clip shows the funeral of a Muslim cleric in Pakistan in 2020.

The video was shared in a Facebook post here on September 6, 2021.

The post's Hindi-language caption translates to English as: "Village council meeting of farmers in Muzaffarnagar."

Muzaffarnagar is a city in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh which hosted a huge meeting of Indian farmers on September 5, 2021.

The video has been viewed more than 20,000 times alongside a similar claim on Facebook here and here.

The claim, however, is false.

A reverse image search found a longer video published here on the official YouTube channel of Pakistan News 24 HD on November 21, 2020.

"More Than 2 Lac World Attendees At Khadim Rizvi Funeral", reads the video's title.

Khadim Rizvi was a Pakistani cleric who died in November 2020.

There was a huge turnout for his funeral in Lahore, local media reported. The event was covered by Pakistani newspapers Dawn and Express Tribune.
